“Sob a Chama da Candeia”, by André Gil Mata, awarded at the Seville European Film Festival

The film “Sob a Chama da Candeia”, directed by André Gil Mata, won the Best Film award in the As Novas Vagas competition at the Seville European Film Festival. With Márcia Breia and Eva Ras, “Sob a Chama da Candeia” is a film about the memories that populate spaces, consecrating their intimacy and, consequently, the ineffability of this relationship. Deeply inspired by family memories, the filming took place on the outskirts of Porto, in the filmmaker’s grandmother’s old house.
