THE MISER at FITEI

ESAP’s 2nd year of Theater will end the International Festival of Theater of Iberian Expression laughing. Because laughing can be a very effective way of doing politics, as Molière taught us – and it is with this scoundrel that the party is held, the rockets are launched and the reeds are picked up, poring over this denunciation text, his The Miser.

In this exercise, the class appropriates the times of comedy and updates them in their bodies, in the perception of what is behind a laugh – what biting and fatal complex can guide the actress/actor to other intentions and temperatures? These unpredictable textures, found in the act of acting, can lead us to ironize about power, about capital and, of course, reflect on the theatrical exercise itself.
