As part of the Entre Curtas festival, the talk Learning Cinema brought together students and participants for a moment of discussion and reflection on film education and academic experiences in cinema.
ESAP was represented by Nuno Silva, a first-year student in the Cinema and Audiovisual programme, who took part in the session by sharing his experience within the course so far.
During the conversation, the student highlighted the strong practical dimension of ESAP’s Cinema and Audiovisual degree, emphasizing the importance of direct contact with different filmmaking processes from the very beginning of the programme. He also mentioned the opportunities for engagement with the professional audiovisual field, including study visits and contact with institutions such as RTP studios.
Among the various topics discussed, Nuno Silva also stressed the importance of sound within the contemporary audiovisual landscape, highlighting both the versatility of the skills developed in this area and the professional opportunities connected to it.
The student further underlined the creative freedom that has characterised his experience at ESAP, describing it as one of the most positive aspects of his academic journey so far.
Filming activities and projects connected to the programme continue throughout the week in articulation with the Entre Curtas festival, fostering moments of learning, experimentation and direct engagement with contemporary cinematic practices.
