residência Selected for the Portuguese Cinematheque’s Ante-Estreias Programme

On 25 July, at 6:00 pm, the Sala M. Félix Ribeiro at the Portuguese Cinematheque will host a screening of residência, directed by Amarante Abramovici, lecturer in ESAP’s BA in Cinema and Audiovisual and MA in Film Directing: Cinema and Television, and Lucas Tavares, who completed ESAP’s BA in Cinema and Audiovisual in 2018. The screening is part of the Ante-Estreias programme and will be attended by both filmmakers.

residência began as a participatory fortnightly film club and evolved into a collaborative film developed with the wider community of Porto Shelters. The work reflects on homelessness, the absence of home and the city through a filmmaking process created in close collaboration with its participants.

Following screenings at Espaço Mira and Batalha Centro de Cinema, and most recently at the Sem Morada film series at Pátio Miraflor, the film continues its public circulation with a screening at the Portuguese Cinematheque.
