Theatrical Show “Freedom, Freedom…”

FREEDOM, FREEDOM… theatrical show with dramaturgy and direction by Roberto Merino, retired professor at ESAP’s Theater Degree.

Premieres on April 19, 2024 at the Funchal Cultural and Research Center.

The Teatro Experimental do Funchal, celebrating its 49th anniversary in the 2023-2024 artistic season, also marks the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the harpsichord revolution – April 25th, integrating the official programming of Funchal’s Townhall and also the programming of the independent commission for the April 25th celebrations in RAM.
“In Freedom, Freedom… we intend to pay homage to the 50th anniversary of the April revolution, the autonomy of Madeira and all those who, across the centuries, fought for freedom and justice, taking into account our collective memory in a world of deformities and dissonances. From the historical unrest of the past and the most glaring issues of the present, we have the impetus to mediate a message of change that contributes to the construction of a world more aware of its errors, open to tolerance, respect for difference and fraternity. ”
