Call for a Research Grant (BI) within the scope of the Arrchitectural Studies Research Group (projects INFRA]STRUCTURES – Transformation of urban infrastructure through artistic practices and Extreme Sites) of the Arnaldo Araújo Research Centre of Escola Superior Artística do Porto / Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Artístico do Porto, funded by national funds (PIDDAC) through Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, IP / MCTES (ref. UIDB/04041/2020 https://doi.org/10.54499/UIDB/04041/2020 and UIDP/04041/2020 https://doi.org/10.54499/UIDP/04041/2020, under the folowing conditions:
Workplace: The work will be at the facilities of the Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo – Escola Superior Artística do Porto and/or in other locations necessary for the development of research activities.
The activities will be developed under the scientific guidance of Inês Moreira.
Benefits:
The amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 930.98 per month, according to the table of values of scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the Country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), plus Voluntary Social Subsidy, if the candidate chooses to do so, and personal accident insurance. Payment will be made monthly by bank transfer.
Duration
The research grant will last for 8 months, non-renewable, starting in March 2024.
Eligibility
Mandatory admission requirements: (1) Hold a degree; (2) Be enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Art Studies, Art History, Museology, or related areas, or in the 4th or 5th year of an Integrated Master’s Degree in Architecture; (3) Do not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of 2 years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated
Preferred evaluation factors: (1) 1. Preference for interdisciplinary research in the areas of Arts, Architecture and Urban Culture; (2) Knowledge of photography and image processing programs (3) Good level of spoken and written Portuguese and English.; (3) Good level of spoken and written Portuguese and English
Application deadline and form of submission of applications:
1. The contest is open from February 5 to March 4 2024.
2. Applications must be formalized, mandatorily, by sending an application letter accompanied by the following documents:
a) motivation letter;
b) curriculum vitae;
c) certificate of enrollment/registration in a master’s course;
d) degree certificate;
e) Science ID;
f) declaration stating that, with this research grant, it does not exceed the maximum of 2 years foreseen for this type of grant.
3. Applications must be submitted electronically to the email address ceaa.concursos@esap.pt,by the deadline set in this public notice, indicating in the subject: application CEAA/2024/BI/1
4. The selected candidate must present the enrollment/registration certificate delivered in person during the period from 10 am to 1 pm or from 2:30 pm to 5 pm at the address indicated below – Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo, Escola Superior Artística do Porto, Rua dos Navegantes 51, 4000-358 Porto – or sent by post to the same address. Presentation of the original certificate is a mandatory condition for the performance of the contract.
5. Failure to send any of the documents required in the application is a reason for exclusion.
6. Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portugueseinstitution, in accordance with Decree-Law n.º 66/2018, de 16 de agosto, and Portaria n.º33/2019, de 25 de janeiro The presentation of the certificate is mandatory for the signing of thecontract.
