CAV Students’ Artistic Residency Kicks Off in Chaves

The 2025 Artistic Residency began on May 1st and is taking place in Chaves until the 9th. In partnership with the Teatro Experimental Flaviense and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, a group of 10 CAV students from ESAP and 2 from IPB are producing two short films: a fictional piece set in the village of Sanjurge, and a documentary portrait of the people of Chaves. Accompanied by tutors Amarante Abramovici and Lucas Tavares, the students spent the first afternoon organizing the residency space and headed to Sanjurge to prepare the set. On Friday, the group split up, with some focusing on lighting setup and rehearsals for the fiction film, while others explored the city and began meeting the documentary characters. Shooting began on Saturday.
