ESAP brings together students from the BA, Master’s and Postgraduate programmes in Film and Audiovisual to stimulate artistic collaboration

On 7 October, the Escola Superior Artística do Porto hosted a session that brought together students from the BA in Film and Audiovisual, the Master’s in Filmmaking: Film and Television, and the Postgraduate courses in Film Production and Art Direction.

The initiative aimed to strengthen connections between the different programmes and foster collaboration among students, encouraging the exchange of technical and artistic skills that define film practice.

The session opened with the screening of Elisa, directed by Anna Gennerich — a project developed within the BA in Film and Audiovisual that involved students from the Postgraduate course in Art Direction. This was followed by a speed meeting led by lecturers Alexandra Guimarães and Marta Lima, during which participants introduced themselves, shared their interests, experiences and ongoing projects, and discussed potential collaborations for future productions.

A WhatsApp group was also introduced, open to all students from the four programmes, designed as an informal platform for communication and collaboration, where participants can share projects, propose partnerships, and create subgroups dedicated to specific productions.

The session was attended by Tiago Vieira da Silva, Director of the BA in Film and Audiovisual; Nelson Araújo, lecturer in both the BA and the Master’s in Filmmaking: Film and Television; Alexandra Guimarães, coordinator of the Postgraduate course in Film Production; Marta Lima, lecturer in the BA and both Postgraduate programmes; Pedro Crispim, coordinator of the Postgraduate course in Art Direction; Luís Miranda, lecturer in the BA; Inês Rebanda Coelho, lecturer in Film Production; and Vasco Josué, lecturer in the BA, who incorporated the event into his course Television Practices, leading filming exercises with students from the 1st and 2nd years of the BA programmes.
