ESAP was part of the 9th Edition of OPEN HOUSE PORTO

ESAP was part of the 9th Edition of OPEN HOUSE PORTO, held on the 6th and 7th of July 2024, with guided tours carried out by Architects Fátima Fernandes and Michele Cannatà.

Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP), whose origin is linked to Cooperativa Árvore (founded in 1963), has as its founding entity the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Artístico do Porto (CESAP), which is the first cooperative higher education institution founded in Portugal, in 1982. ESAP operated in Largo de S. Domingos for almost 40 years, but the growing tourist activity in the city center led to the change of facilities to Fábrica dos Navegantes, in Antas, a place that still maintains a compatible urban character with the type of interaction that the school intends to establish with civil society.
