

André Gil Mata, film director and professor at ESAP, was awarded the Sophia Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, alongside Paulo Abreu, for their work on UBU. The film, inspired by Alfred Jarry’s play Ubu Roi, is the result of a creative collaboration between both authors, with direction by Paulo Abreu. The award was presented by the Portuguese Film Academy. Under the theme “Cinema is Passion”, the 14th edition of the Sophia Awards took place last Monday, April 27, at the Black and Silver Room of the Casino Estoril, and was broadcast live on RTP2.
