THESPACEINYOURHEAD | SILVESTRE CORREIA | PERFORMANCE “A MAN OF SOME IMPORTANCE”

Silvestre Correia

OPENING

Silvestre Correia is a performer, stage and film director who began his professional career as an actor in 2014 (under the direction of Luís Miguel Cintra) while finishing his studies at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in Lisbon. Since then, he has developed constant artistic work in various fields, including Visual Arts, Theater and – with his most recent project (I SEE RED.) -, also Cinema, a film premiered in Portugal in November 2023, as part of the ‘Caminhos do Cinema Português’ festival’s programme.

In addition to his degree from ESTC, he also completed a Masters in Contemporary Performance at Manchester Metropolitan University (with distinction), an opportunity made possible by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation when he became a grantee of this institution.

He is currently developing a new and peculiar, large-scale project: ‘Salomé’.

With the aim of being a feature- length film, the conception of ‘Salomé’ involves several artistic fields, namely digital collage, video art and performance art, without ever forgetting the strong theatrical influence that lies at the root of this object.
