Bachelor of Fine Arts / Painting by FBAUP (1981). PhD from the University of Vigo (Department of Sculpture, 2014), with the thesis “Art and Memory: Developments and derivations about the concept of memory and its contribution to artistic practice”. He was a Fellow of the Foundation for Science and Technology (2009-2012). Since 1982, he has been teaching at ESAP’s Higher Arts Courses, of which he was one of the founders, having held various positions. As a plastic artist, he began exhibiting in 1978: he held 5 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 150 collectives, in Portugal and abroad, being represented in some public and private collections. Between 1976 and 1981 he worked in Animation Cinema, including two films subsidized by the Portuguese Cinema Institute, produced by Cinematógrafo – collective of intervention, of which he was one of the founders. In 2015 Trindade re-started working in cinema, having produced two short films which were shown in some international film festivals.
