ESAP continues its cycle of poetry sessions with a meeting on the poetry of Francisca Camelo.

Poesia na Língua is a cycle of spoken word poetry sessions that seeks to give one of the oldest and most powerful universal literary forms its oral and performative dimension.

On the last Tuesdays of each month, at 7pm, in the Theater Studio of the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, ESAP students, guided by director Luísa Pinto, with special guests, present poems by some of the most significant Portuguese and Lusophone poets.

The second session will take place on November 26, at 7pm, and will focus on the poetry of Francisca Camelo.

Francisca Camelo was born in Porto in 1990: she is a poet and writer. Her poems have appeared in various anthologies and magazines, especially in Portugal and Latin America, and she has been translated into Spanish, Greek, French and German.

She is the author of “Cassiopeia” (Apuro Edições, 2018); “Photoautomat” (Enfermaria 6, 2019); “O Quarto Rosa” (semi-finalist for the Oceanos Prize 2019, Corsário-Satã (Brazil)), “A Importância do Pequeno-Almoço” (Fresca Edições, 2020), “Quem me comeu a carne” (Nova Mymosa, 2022) and the libretto for the opera “Torre da Memória” (2023, Quarteto Contratempus).

She organizes Spoken Word performances and monthly conversations with other poets in her Sin.cera project.
