“Lavores” Programme Arrives at ESAP with a Special Screening on “Shadow Work”, Featuring Filmmaker Solveig Nordlund

On April 21 at 3:00 PM, ESAP will host a special screening of the Lavores programme at its Auditorium, as part of its partnership with Porto Femme – International Film Festival.

Organised within the Educational Service, this session presents the opening moment of Lavores, curated by filmmaker and ESAP professor Amarante Abramovici and master’s student Beatriz Diniz. The programme proposes a reflection on “shadow work” — labour that takes place before or after formal work, often invisible, silent, and undervalued.

The session features the film Music for You, which follows, at dusk, a domestic routine marked by solitude and the gradual dissolution of the self into silence. Voices from the radio permeate the intimate space, collapsing the boundaries between the inner and outer worlds.

The film is the result of a collaboration between filmmaker Solveig Nordlund, the Grupo Zero cooperative, and the Cornucópia Theatre Company, and is based on the play of the same name by Franz-Xaver Kroetz.

The session will also include the animated short film Carrot in Pieces, by ESAP student Iris Silva.
