ESAP will host the masterclass “The Universe of Film Festivals”, promoted by the FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival as part of the FEST Roadshow programme. The session proposes a reflection on the role of film festivals in the trajectory of emerging filmmakers, seeking to answer the question: how can a new filmmaker make the most of a film festival?
Throughout the masterclass, topics such as the importance of film festivals in the circulation and visibility of films, the submission process, key aspects to consider when developing a festival strategy, the international film festival landscape, and the work carried out by festival programmers will be explored. The initiative aims to introduce participants to the world of film festivals while providing essential tools for a more effective film distribution strategy within the festival circuit.
FEST Roadshow is an initiative of the FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival that seeks to bring university students closer to the world of cinema and the audiovisual industry. Through masterclasses, open lectures, film screenings, and conversations with guests, the project aims to promote cinephilia, encourage emerging talent, and foster direct contact with professionals from different areas of the industry, recreating within universities the spirit of the festival.
