Cycle of Talks on Art Direction | Ricardo Preto

Ricardo Preto was born in 1981 in Vila Nova de Gaia. Graduated in Scenography from the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE/IPP). In cinema, he collaborated with Aki Kaurismäki, Peter Greenaway, Victor Erice, Rodrigo Areias, Edgar Pêra, Atsushi Funahashi, among others. In theater, he participated in productions for several directors, notably Marco Barbosa, Nuno Preto, Fernando Moreira, Cristina Carvalhal and Lautaro Vilo. At the Opera, the work developed with António Durães and Marcos Barbosa stands out. He was a teacher at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE/IPP) between 2007 and 2020.
