ESAP opens a cycle of poetry sessions with a meeting on the poetry of Carlos Tê.
Poesia na Língua is a cycle of spoken word poetry sessions that seeks to give one of the oldest and most powerful universal literary forms its oral and performative dimension.
On the last Tuesdays of each month, at 7pm, in the Theater Studio of the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, ESAP students, guided by director Luísa Pinto, with special guests, present poems by some of the most significant Portuguese and Lusophone poets.
The first session will take place on October 29, at 7pm, and will focus on the poetry of Carlos Tê.
Carlos Tê is one of Portugal’s most famous lyricists, having collaborated with Rui Veloso, José Mário Branco, Jorge Palma, Jafumega, Clã, Cabeças no Ar, Canto Nono and Estrada Branca. Between 1978 and 1981, he collaborated with poetry magazines and was also a columnist for the Público and Expresso newspapers. Over the years, he has published different literary genres – O voo melancólico do melro (novel), Contos supranumerários (short stories), Penso sujo e Cimo de Vila (poetry) and Três peças em volta de canções and Um monólogo sobre futebol (theater). Arquibaldo is his most recent novel and this year he published the poetry book A Invenção do Canto e outros Versos.
