Manuel Justo ( b. Lisbon, 1994) lives and works as an artist and videographer in Bern, Switzerland. Since 2016, he has participated in art projects and exhibitions at institutions and off-spaces such as Kunsthaus Baselland, Fondation Beyeler (Basel, Switzerland), Spazio In Situ (Rome, Italy) and Galeria Diferença (Lisbon, Portugal). He has undertaken artistic residencies at FIGAC (Viana do Castelo, Portugal), Serra em Cadernos (Feital, Portugal) and Russafart (Valencia, Spain). He graduated in painting from FBAUL in 2016 (Lisbon, Portugal) and completed his master’s degree at the Institut Kunst in 2020 (Basel, Switzerland). Highlights of his practice include the D. Fernando II Sculpture Prize in 2017, curating the Cobweb exhibition (Basel, CH) in 2020, the solo exhibition Human Encyclopedia of Hus at MU.SA (Sintra, PT) in 2023, and the film M.I.A. — What Happened to Mia Wander? from the same year.
