ESAP Alumni Alexandra Guimarães and Gonçalo L. Almeida shoot The City and the Maps in Oporto

Alexandra Guimarães and Gonçalo L. Almeida, former ESAP students, are the directors of A Cidade e os Mapas (The City and the Maps), a documentary filmed on the streets of Porto.
The narrative follows Akash, a young Bengali delivery worker, and offers a reflection on the transformations of the city in the era of digital globalization, addressing themes such as gentrification, housing, and precarious labour. Produced by Olhar de Ulisses, the film was awarded the Working Class Heroes grant and is scheduled to premiere at Porto/Post/Doc.
