Born in 1984, Thibault Lucas is a multidisciplinary artist (installation, video, painting). He lives and works in Paris. Thibault Lucas works on the sidelines. He works on the margin between inhabited places and abandoned places becoming wild again in the city. His work attempts to reveal and poeticize these places through simple artistic gestures that resonate with the place. He works with materials found on site, and favors economy of means which ensures accuracy in relation to the place and what inhabits it. These in situ actions are often the occasion for meetings with the inhabitants and passers-by of these places. These meetings take an increasingly central place in his projects. By working concretely on “border” places, Thibault Lucas questions the mental borders which separate human beings from each other. His simple, immersive artistic gestures, on the scale of the place, are improbable proposals for the visitors to cross and speak out.
