‘O Pulso do Rancho’ Project

The sound installation ‘O Pulso do Rancho’ is the result of the work of a collective of students from the Critical Contemporary Sound Art Course, which is part of the Experimental Laboratory of Ideas, Forms and Processes at UC, in the 3rd year of the Fine Arts and Intermedia Degree at Escola Superior Artística do Porto/ESAP.

Through the appropriation of the sounds of clogs present in the tradition of the Northern Portuguese Folk Dance Group, the project seeks to bring to light the poetic and political power of Portuguese rural culture present in its rituals, work, traditions and customs.
