António Olaio, fine artist, 1963. Born in Lubango, Angola. Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Porto. Lives in Coimbra. His performances in the early 1980s led him to music (Repórter Estrábico 1986-1991, António Olaio & João Taborda, 1996-2024, and since 2024, The Middle People, with Mikey Georgeson, among other projects).
With musician and actor Richard Strange, he created performance and theatre projects presented in Portugal and the United Kingdom. Exhibitions and performances in Portugal, Spain, Germany, USA, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Mexico. Director of the College of Arts at the University of Coimbra between 2013 and 2023, where he is a professor. He also teaches on the architecture course at the University of Coimbra. Researcher at CEIS20, Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Coimbra.
