Joana Patrão (1992, Barcelos). Visual artist whose practice fluctuates between video, photography, drawing, and installation. Crossing historical, natural, and cultural references, she seeks different ways of analysing the idea of landscape, from its tensions to its relational possibilities. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts of the University of Porto – Fine Arts (2014) and Master’s in Painting (2016) – and from Aalto University (Erasmus+), Finland. Since 2014, she has exhibited regularly, with highlights including the solo exhibition A brisa do maremoto (Appleton [BOX], Lisbon, 2021) and the group exhibitions Desnaturadas (RAMPA, Porto, curated by Vera Carmo, 2025) and Super Natural Voices (MONO, Lisbon, curated by Jule Kurbjeweit, 2024).
