Harry Smith (1923-1991) was a psychedelic pioneer and is currently the subject of a retrospective exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Raymond Foye, a writer and art historian who has published extensively on Smith’s work, was his close friend and will present, at ESAP, an illustrated lecture on the various aspects of Smith’s artistic personality: painter, filmmaker, folklorist, anthropologist and collector.
