Gender Equality Office

FRAMEWORK

The Gender Equality Office is the body responsible for promoting, implementing and monitoring gender equality policies, inclusion and non-discrimination throughout the academic community.

Its work is based on the constitutional principles of equality, European guidelines and the ESAP/CESAP Gender Equality Plan, contributing to sustained cultural and institutional change that values human dignity, equity and merit.

The Office plays a strategic role in coordinating management bodies, academic structures, research, teaching and services, promoting a fair, safe and inclusive academic environment.

 

COMPETENCIES

The Gender Equality Office is responsible for:

  • Promoting and monitoring institutional policy on gender equality, diversity and inclusion;
  • Coordinating the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Gender Equality Plan;
  • Liaise with management bodies and academic structures to integrate gender issues into decision-making, recruitment, progression, teaching and research processes;
  • Raise awareness among the academic community about the prevention of discrimination, sexism and harassment;
  • Collect, process and analyse data relevant to the assessment of gender equality in the institution;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of reports and in internal and external evaluation processes;
  • Support the operationalisation of institutional protection and reporting mechanisms;

 

GENDER EQUALITY PLAN

The ESAP/CESAP Gender Equality Plan sets out the vision, objectives and strategic actions aimed at promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, structured around key areas such as leadership, academic careers, teaching, research and the prevention of stereotypes, sexism and harassment.
